Carolina Beaches

Myrtle Beach, April 20 – 24, 2015, Pirateland Family Camping Resort

You know what they say…”When in Rome”…or is it “Myrtle Beach”??? So you can only imagine that when we hit the boardwalk & saw that AIRBRUSH wasn’t a lost art in these parts, well, how could we resist?!?!!!!

We have yet to wear them in public, but give us time. By the time we get back home, I’m sure we’ll be proudly sporting them on family outings…a sure way to make friends in our new, old town, don’t you think?!

The weather was amazing during our visit! While we didn’t experience their mini-golf, we did have plenty of relaxing beach time, long walks to several piers, tubing on the lazy river, kayaking in the surf, dogs running free in the sand at sunset, and yes, nightly bingo at the Rec Room!!

Now up the coast….to the Outer Banks!

Rodanthe, NC, April 24-28, 2015, Camp Hatteras

Wow, just beautiful! We stayed at another beachfront location, & while beautiful, just too cold for our Floridian blood to hit the waves. Tons of wind = tons of kite surfing…by others!:) Great, quiet towns up & down the endless miles of sand dunes & stilt houses. Remember the Nicholas Sparks movie, Nights in Rodanthe? The house is right here about 1/2 a mile down the beach. We ate delicious fried oysters, visited the National Seashore & Light Station & also the Wright Brother Memorial. Was awesome!

Our Sunday afternoon ritual of hot tea in the afternoon…in Oprah’s favorite mugs, thanks to my sweet mom! Busted!! Stella’s been eating our herbs!!! We were wondering what was happening to them…

Next stop…..Cape Cod, Plymouth & Boston…with a pit stop this week in Old Salem, NC…just to get us excited for the Salem Witch Museum in MA!!
